Storm Pushes Off Coast, Leading To Dry Start To New Year Before Another Unsettled Stretch

The storm system that swept through the area has pushed off the coast, leading to dry conditions to start the new year and new decade before another unsettled stretch arrives later in the week.

New Year's Eve Day, Tuesday, Dec. 31 will be a cloudy and breezy day with a high temperature in the mid 40s. 

As for the evening, look for mostly cloudy skies. The temperature in Times Square will be in mid to upper 30s at midnight, but winds of up to around 14 miles per hour will make it feel like it's in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees.

New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1 will be mostly sunny with a high temperature around 40 degrees and wind-chill values between 25 and 35 degrees.

Thursday, Jan. 2 will be sunny with a high temperature in the mid 40s.

The next stormy stretch of weather will arrive overnight Thursday with rain likely both Friday, Jan. 3 and Saturday, Jan. 4 and the higher temperature in the upper 40s to low 50s both days.
